Basic meaning
A column cabinet literally means a cabinet located at the end of a column of cabinets. In fact, the column head cabinet is just a relatively vivid definition of equipment management and allocation cabinets. Its placement is often located at one end of a column of cabinets, but in reality, it can be placed at any position of a column of cabinets, even individually.
Classification and Installation
Column cabinets are generally divided into two types: strong current column cabinets and weak current column cabinets. A high-voltage overhead cabinet is a device that manages and distributes mains or UPS power, often located at the end of a cabinet. For data centers with fault tolerance requirements, high-voltage column cabinets are usually located at both ends of a column cabinet to achieve fault tolerance (n+n). The weak current column head cabinet is mainly used for cable distribution in network cabling. There are too many weak power cables in the computer room, and it is possible for small computer rooms to manage all network cables through one or two main distribution frames. In medium to large computer rooms, it is unimaginable to concentrate all cables on the main distribution frame, so it is necessary to add 1-2 levels of overhead cabinets to distribute cable layout. In general computer rooms, the strong current column head cabinet is located at one end of the cabinet, and the weak current column head cabinet is located at the other end; For data centers with fault tolerance requirements, a commonly used approach is to have both ends equipped with strong current column cabinets, with the weak current column cabinets located in the middle of a row of cabinets. The management function of the high-voltage column head cabinet is very strong, and now there are precision column head cabinets that have strengthened the management function of the high-voltage column head cabinet. It can not only monitor conventional electrical parameters and switch status, but also detect zero line current, dynamically adjust three-phase imbalance and other problems. The weak current cabinet is more inclined towards allocation, but with the addition of electronic wiring systems, the management function of the weak current cabinet has also been greatly strengthened.
